Many areas have abundant tulip poplar.;Gentle - moderate, S facing hillslope in a dissected plateau landscape. Entire slope has downfall visable on air photo and there is abundant rotton downfall with tip mounds. This patch of forest is dominated by large mixed oaks over a shade tolerant subcanopy. The shrub layer is fairly well developed, with oak in short shrub layer. Herb layer is sparse but diverse. Canopy and downfall are multi-aged.
Representativeness
Small patch of older oaks in matrix that is mostly tuliptree canopy and ground flora contrast with nearby TYSP.1 although some spp. are shared. May be geology or soil break.
